What happens when you click Install
- HubSpot asks you to approve the app's permissions: view and edit contacts and companies, create properties on them, and view and create lists. Nothing else — the app cannot see your deals, tickets, emails or conversations, and it cannot read your existing property settings.
- Radius Search adds a property group called Radius Search to contacts and companies, and opens inside your HubSpot account.
- Run the first geocoding pass on the Geocoding tab. Records need coordinates before a radius search can find them, so this is the one step not to skip — the setup guide walks through it.
Before you install
Radius Search builds each record's location from four standard HubSpot properties: Street Address, City, State/Region and Postal Code.
A record needs at least one of them. A street address with a city and state places it precisely; a postal code on its own places it roughly; a record with none of them cannot be placed at all. If your addresses live in custom properties rather than the standard ones, copy them across before the first geocoding run — a HubSpot workflow or a quick import will do it.
